HOBOnet Multi-Depth Soil Moisture Sensor mengukur kelembapan tanah pada beberapa kedalaman secara akurat dalam satu sistem. Selain itu, sensor ini membantu pengguna memahami distribusi air di seluruh profil tanah. Perangkat ini sangat cocok untuk pertanian, penelitian lingkungan, kehutanan, dan pengelolaan irigasi. Dengan demikian, pengguna dapat mengambil keputusan berdasarkan kondisi kelembapan tanah yang sebenarnya.

Selanjutnya, sensor terhubung secara nirkabel melalui jaringan mesh HOBOnet menuju stasiun HOBO RX3000 atau HOBO MicroRX. Sistem mengirimkan data secara otomatis ke platform HOBOlink untuk pemantauan jarak jauh. Di samping itu, setiap node membantu memperluas jangkauan komunikasi pada area pemantauan yang luas. Oleh karena itu, pengguna dapat mengakses hasil pengukuran melalui komputer maupun perangkat seluler kapan saja.

Panel surya internal menyediakan sumber daya utama selama pengoperasian. Selain itu, baterai isi ulang menjaga kinerja sensor ketika intensitas cahaya matahari menurun. Memori internal menyimpan data sementara apabila koneksi jaringan terputus. Kemudian, sistem mengirimkan kembali data setelah koneksi kembali normal. Teknologi mesh meningkatkan kestabilan komunikasi pada berbagai kondisi lapangan.

Sementara itu, sensor mengukur kadar kelembapan tanah pada beberapa titik kedalaman menggunakan teknologi presisi. Pengguna dapat memanfaatkan data tersebut untuk mengoptimalkan jadwal irigasi dan meningkatkan efisiensi penggunaan air. Tidak hanya itu, konstruksi tahan cuaca mendukung penggunaan jangka panjang di lingkungan luar ruangan. Terakhir, integrasi dengan HOBOlink mempermudah visualisasi, penyimpanan, serta analisis data kelembapan tanah secara efisien.
